How did your partner propose?

On a trip to Sicily, he proposed in front of the Fountain of Diana in Syracuse one evening and got my family to fly out as a surprise! He calls me his Wonder Woman so felt the fountain was a perfect location. I was very glad I’d bothered to wash my hair before we’d gone out that evening!

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

Get a videographer! Yes it all adds to the expense but so so worth it, I am so glad we listened to  other couples on this! The video we will cherish forever and it really captures the emotion and the feel of the day much better than the photos, however beautiful they are too. You won’t regret it and you can’t repeat the day!

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

Lots of Pinterest scrolling! I don’t like taking too long to make decisions and I knew I’d be terrible at trying on too many dresses so I did lots of research of local shops and found Fross. I loved the styles and breadth of designs but couldn’t get an appointment so ended up visiting two other shops prior but ultimately found my dress here!

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

Oh my, I’m not sure I can quite remember but probably about 20. Some you have to try on for the fun of it even if you know you probably won’t choose them

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

Modeca

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?

The lace florals and the fact it wasn’t completely white but had a rum under colour. I knew I wanted something a bit whimsical and in keeping with our woodland style country wedding

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

I had a bespoke cape made with shoulder detailing using the same lace as the dress which then attached at the front. This completely finished it off for me and I was delighted with how it came out

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

We live in the beautiful South Downs so it felt right to have our wedding local with the beautiful scenery. We have visited South Stoke, Arundel many times so didn’t look at any other locations! The church is 1,000 years old and candle lit and you approach through woodland tunnel. The venue is an old grade 1 listed barn just across the road so we went for a very relaxed, whimsical woodland vibe and were keen for it to not be too formal

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

The ceremony and seeing Dom for the first time as I walked down the aisle

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

Everybody says it goes so quickly and it really does! Try and take in each moment and move around your venue to chat to as many people as possible. I would also recommend cutting your formal pictures down to only the ones you really need and not spending too much time away from your guests, we were really happy we did this on the day.

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

We took a few days away in Tuscany which was well needed! But planning a bigger trip to Peru within the year

How did your partner propose?

We both proposed!

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

Take time for the two of you, away from everyone else

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

I had no idea what I wanted so I was just like “give me one of everything!”

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

It was the first one! (I tried on 7 more but none compared)

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

Veni Infantino

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?

I wanted to wear my mums veil as she passed away before I got married. Her veil was pink and the dress I chose ended up being pink too!

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

Veil

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

We got married at Lewes register office because of the gardens and my flowery dress floored like it was made for the venue!

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

The ceremony and our vows.

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

Passing on the best advice I got: take a moment for yourself

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

We went to Mauritius 2 days after

How did your partner propose?

He and my sister planned my proposal for the end of my sisters evening wedding reception, with a slideshow of photos on a projector screen, John Legend playing in the background surrounded by my family and friends, was perfect!

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

You can never be too organised, whether it comes to doing any DIY little touches yourself or    booking your suppliers. Give yourself time!

How did you go about finding your wedding dresses?

I was very open minded with shape ie A-line, fit and flare, so I started to just look on local bridal boutiques websites to find designers they stocked. Then I would go onto the designers’ websites and see their full range, this told me whether I liked the designers and then if I should book in at my local boutiques.

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

I only visited Fross, as I liked the designers they stocked but I tried on about 20 dresses.

Do you know the name of your dress designers?

Yes, they are Sincerity by Justin Alexander.

What made you fall in love with the dresses that you chose?

They were both the first dresses I ever screenshot as 1 is A-Line and 1 is fit and flare. I love how they are both the same designer so they share similarities and flow into each other nicely. They are so timeless, sexy and understated. I wanted dresses to look back on in 10 years’ time and still look current and not outdated. They were very me for different reasons!

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

I wore a 2-tier cathedral length soft tulle veil, with lace and diamante trim. I even wore the veil over my face as I really wanted to lean into the classic look that my wedding dress gave me. But also, the veil needed its own moment as it was so beautiful, just the perfect addition!

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

I always wanted white flowers with lots of greenery, again to look back on in 10 years and have no regret over trends and something that would stand the test of time. I also went traditional and had silver beaded charger plates and high centre pieces, to try and elevate the tables as guests spend a good amount of time at the wedding breakfast and also so its sociable! We wanted classic but a modern twist, which I feel we achieved by adding white chiffon draping around the venue, a simple but very impactful touch and looks amazing in the photos.

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

Gosh, I really struggle to pick one, so here’s a few (sorry!)

The ceremony, as soon as we faced each other and said our vows, it truly felt like it was just us two in the room. We did not stop looking at each other, we couldn’t stop smiling it was just pure magic. A moment that will stay with me forever! 2- we had singing waiters over our desert course and to see the penny drop on our guest’s faces was hilarious. They were so entertaining and got everyone singing, waving napkins and dancing along with them! It’s when the day started to shift into a party and wow, did we party! 3- the fireworks, it was our last surprise for our guests at around 10pm, we were stood together in front of our guests with Coldplay- A sky full of stars playing in the background and that really cemented for me what a fantastic day we had. Hearing our guests’ reactions behind us to the fireworks, as well as just singing and dancing with my now husband, just in awe that we had done it. We were finally married!

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

Don’t worry about the day, I was so relaxed and chilled about it because I had full faith in our suppliers. Everyone knew the timeline of the day and that was enough for me to relinquish control and be totally present on the day. It’s true what everyone says, it goes so fast, so just be present and don’t even think about it. Be with your husband and loved ones, you won’t get the day again!

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

We will be taking a honeymoon, it will be next year but currently undecided, we are almost too open to options/ideas that we just can’t decide. But I’m looking forward to longing it out and being able to reflect on the day again!

  • How did your partner propose?
  • Rich proposed on a long hike we took from Eastbourne back across the Seven Sisters Cliffs. It was spring so all the flowers were coming out, the sun was mostly shining and the wild ponies were out and about. We stopped at ‘Reg and Nancy’s bench’ overlooking the Costguard Cottages (which is where we stopped on our first date 7 years prior). Here he got down on one knee and popped the question before bringing out the champagne he’d hidden and carried the full 15 miles without me knowing! It’s a special place for us as it’s close to home and we plan many lovely dog walks there together.

  • What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?
  • Try not to sweat the small details about the day too much, as long as it’s a special day that matters to the two of you, it will be perfect, and if you’re having the best time you’re guests will see that and go with the flow.

  • How did you go about finding your wedding dress?
  • I saw my dress posted on FROSS’ instagram page and instantly knew it was going to be the dress for me. I was desperate to try it on and had an appointment at FROSS coming up so I got in touch with FROSS and asked if there was any chance the dress would be arriving into the boutique soon as I was desperate to try it on! The dress came into the store the evening before my appointment the next morning and I was first to try it on in store… it felt meant to be!

  • How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’? My dress was probably the 5th or 6th I tried on.

  • Do you know the name of your dress designer? Bobyn by Modeca

  • What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose? I loved how soft and elegant the A-Line cut was with all the tulle, sparkles and appliques. It was more ‘girly’ than I thought i’d go for but I always knew I would go for lace and I loved that my dress offered the choice to have sleeves that were removable for two different looks. I wore the sleeves for our ceremony and some photos and then removed them for a more relaxed evening look later. Plus the sandy blush tone on my olive skin suited me better than ivory… all in all it just ticked all the boxes and I felt great in it! Having my mum and sister there also to confirm it was the dress also helped me love it that much more.

  • Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories? I wore a viel from Lave and Favor and a hair piece from Ivory & Co. Jewlery was from Lily & Roo and Astrid & Miyu

  • Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc. We wanted it to be a beautfiul and sentimental day out in the countryside. Because of that we had a fairly intimate wedding with our nearest and dearest and wrote our own readings and vows for the ceremony that certainly made it emotional! It was a family affair with all the littlies included, (special metion to our little flower girl who rocked her dress and white flashing crocs down the aisle)! We had a String Quartet playing modern songs in a Bridgerton style and the sun was shining so we got married outside and all ate and drank out on the lawn while watching the kids run about and do what they do while everyone had a good old natter and drink. Our theme was sage green and we had white flowers everywhere. My sister who is a florist did our fresh floral arrangements in an English Cottage Garden Style and then my bro and sister surpirsed us later with a Safety Demo inspired speech in honour of my cabin crew job.

  • What was your favourite moment from the day itself? Walking back down the aisle with confetti everywhere and realising we were now husband and wife. Also dancing together on the dance floor just so happy.

  • Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides? Try and schedule in if you can little slots in your wedding day where you can just be with and catch up with your partner. The day passes by in a blur and it’s easy to get swept up and away from each other amongst all the guests and milestones in the day. We had a photographer and a wedding coordinator who gave us different oppurtunities to sneak off for a few minutes after the ceremony just to take it all in and have a sip of champagne together and that was excactly what we needed!

  • Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans? We went on Honeymoon to Italy the day after our wedding. We went to Italy for two weeks, on an interail adventure through Venice, Como, Florence, Rome and finished in Sorrento.

How did your partner propose?

Ben and I live in Oxford, and he proposed on a beautiful country walk in December. It was really misty, and Ben gave me a poem he’d written about us…he then got down on one knee and I was so excited, I was squealing ‘yes’ before he’d even asked the question.

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

The two best pieces were: spend as much of the day together as you can, and soak in every second. We did both of those things and felt they made our day perfect. The majority of our memories from our day are shared memories, which makes everything feel even more special.

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

Ben and I grew up in Eastbourne and knew we were getting married there, so my mum and I looked up wedding dress shops around the area. Fross had brilliant reviews and the dresses looked gorgeous, so we made an appointment. It ended up being the only place I went to try dresses, as the service was incredible and I fell in love with a dress at my first appointment.

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

It was the third dress I tried! I’d seen it on Fross’ website and loved it – I said if I could only try one on, I’d want it to be that one. People had said to me ‘you’ll know’ when you try on the dress, but I wasn’t sure I would…though I absolutely did! As soon as I put it on it felt different and special. I tried on a few more afterwards for fun and comparison, but went back to that third one as I knew it felt perfect.

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

Tiffanys Bridal, and the dress is called Kassala. (I loved that it was Tiffanys, as the song ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ was #1 on the day I was born!)

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?

It felt romantic and like a dress from a fairytale…I adored it. I loved the sparkle and all the beaded detail. The straps had beautiful leaf details, and they were originally off the shoulder but I ended up wearing them straight up over my shoulders, as I loved how that felt and looked. I also loved that it had a gorgeous train, which could be bustled up for the evening so I could dance without worrying about it. Above all though, it truly did just feel like ‘me’ when I tried it on.

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

I wore a veil, also from Fross, and loved the traditional feel which added to the romantic vibe I wanted. I wore hair pins and earrings from Lace and Favour, a bracelet from BP Jewellery in Brighton, and the pearl necklace that my mum wore on her wedding day (which made my grandma very emotional!).

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

We had a quite traditional and romantic feel, with lots of bright springtime colours in our décor and the bridal party’s outfits. We both love books so we had readings from Tolkien and CS Lewis in our ceremony, vintage books as our centrepieces, confetti made from book pages and miniature books on our wedding cake. Above all, the vibe we wanted was ‘joyful’ and we felt we achieved that!

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

Walking down the aisle was the most emotional I’ve ever felt! Seeing everyone I loved in the same room, and Ben at the end of the aisle – knowing I was about to marry the love of my life – was the most incredible feeling.

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

We would definitely repeat the main advice we got – spend as much of the day with your partner as you can, and soak in every second. I’d also recommend artificial flowers – my bouquet was artificial but looked real, and now we have it in a vase in our living room and it makes me smile every day. Also – get your wedding dress from Fross! If you’re marrying the love of your life, you’ll be so happy that you’ll have a gorgeous day to treasure, whatever happens.

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

Directly after the wedding we had a ‘minimoon’ for a few days in Disneyland Paris – which was so much fun. We’ve also just booked a fortnight in Canada, through the Rocky Mountains, for September!

How did your partner propose?

Ian proposed to me at The Fairy pools on the Isle of Skye whilst we were away for the weekend in March ’24’.

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

I would always advise brides to relax as possible – please don’t stress about things we have no control over. The major stress I find is the weather and I can assure you it rained very hard on our wedding day, but it didn’t matter in the slightest – we even had the most stunning double rainbow.

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

I tried on a fair few dresses and the dress I chose didn’t excite me much when I looked at it on the hanger but as soon as I put it on, I knew it was the one! I fell in love straight away.

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

The designer I believe is Presley and the dress is Casablanca (could be the other way round)

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?

I fell in love with the dress because it was ‘different’ without being too out there.

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

I didn’t have a veil, but the dress had a beautiful cape which took the dress to another level.

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

Our wedding day was very intimate. We both wanted just a few close friends and family with us and specifically wanted to be married in a Scottish castle; and what better castle to choose than the one we visited on the day of our engagement.

We had our wedding in the evening at 6:30 and it was wonderful because I had a lovely day getting ready with my daughters and my mum, plus those who made the trip to Scotland with us.

The weather was very moody, as mentioned before, but everyone had the most fantastic time

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

My favourite moment was being piped over the bridge by a lovely bagpiper with my eldest son on my arm, who gave me away, and being followed by my other son and two daughters. It was a very special moment.

Obviously being announced as husband and wife was up there too but when we were having our photos taken and we saw the double rainbow, it just felt incredible.

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

My advice would be to not put any pressure on yourselves.

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

Unfortunately, no honeymoon has been booked as yet as we are in the process of moving house and our youngest daughter starts school in September. Hopefully next year we can go somewhere and celebrate – Ian is in charge and my only request is it needs to be HOT!!

How did your partner propose?

I’m a family girl and had a massive birthday party for my 30th (and my mum’s birthday) at my mums house with all my family and friends, we had a live singer and on his break my mum done a little speech thanking everyone. She then said someone else wants to say a few words, and welcomed up my other half. I thought it was because he drank too much as he’s very shy usually and would never usually get up on a mic! I was videoing and still had no clue. I’d given up on getting engaged.. it had been years of mentioning it and thought it would never happen. Then he got down on one knee. He got my engagement ring made, because I had a specific idea and he put all our chats together from over the years to make it perfect.

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

Get things in order of importance TO YOU!! You might not want a videographer but that was one of my big essentials! Don’t want to budget for your dress, get it first!

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

I booked a couple of shops, I knew my sister had got her dress from Fross, the day before I came she had a fitting, her and my mum both picked out the dress they thought I’d choose . When I came in, I thought I wouldn’t find my dress. But they picked out this dress and apparently I had previously messaged on Instagram about this dress! It was meant to be!

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

Probably 4 in the first shop, and 4 at Fross.

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose? It was made for me; the sparkle, the fit, the insanely long train and big princess vibes, it was my perfect size too!! It was just perfect.

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories? Yes, veil also from Fross and a tiara.

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc. I wanted it to be unique; I wanted it to be me through and through. I wanted to celebrate with all my loved ones. I was married at church as I’m Christian, it was the same church my parents were married in over 30 years ago and then they renewed their vows there, me and my siblings were dedicated, and me and my son were baptised there.  I wanted what I liked, not what the fashion is. We chose a extremely light Ancient Greece theme (not noticeable) as the Disney film Hercules is are thing as it was the first film we watched together but we didn’t want it taky. We showed this with the blues, and reception decor, I also walked down the aisle to a piano version of “Go the distance”.

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

The ceremony… I literally was jumping with excitement to marry my best friend. (When I say jumping, I was literally bouncing around and giggling, pure excitement). Also my pastor from my local church I go to came and said a few words at the ceremony.

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides? Do what you want. Also have something booked to look forward too!

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans? We went on a mini moon without our son to Guildford Manor Spa for 3 days straight away. Then a month after the big day we went on a “family moon” with all 3 of us to Boa Vista, Cape Verde for 11 nights. We just ate, relaxed and had some family bonding time without the pressures of normal life!

How did your partner propose?

Joe proposed in Norfolk in my grandparent’s estate down by the lake, this is a special place to me and they felt so honoured that Joe chose to propose there.

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

Try not to stress too much, spread things out so you can enjoy all the lead up. Remember all those people are there for you both and it’s your special day.

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

I booked a few wedding boutiques and it was great to try on the dresses in different shops but finding my perfect dress at Fross was an experience I won’t forget.

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

I think I tried on 7 or 8 dresses all together before finding the one and when I came back to it to try it on again I just knew.

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

I believe it was Teresa Atelier.

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?

I loved so many things about the dress. The Satin fabric was perfect for the time of the year we got married, the slit added something to it and the square neckline caught my eye as it was just something a little different. I felt like a princess in this dress.

FROSS WEDDING COLLECTIONS – REAL BRIDE QUESTIONNAIRE

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

I brought a veil to go with the dress which was a short waterful one that had a satin edging. I paired this with classic pearls which was my something borrowed and some pearl earrings.

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

Our wedding was at Buxted park hotel on the 21st December, we love christmas so this was really special as the hotel was all decorated so well. We wanted a cosy vibe which it certainly was with the fires lit and all our family and friends in one place. We made lots of personal touches to add to our wedding day and we wanted it to be very relaxed and loved that it was all in one location.

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

We both loved the morning getting ready with our bridesmaids and groomsmen and of course seeing each other for the first time at the alter and finally becoming husband and wife.

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

Enjoy every moment as it goes so quick, take it all in. We also made sure we went round to speak to our guests in between courses so I would really recommend doing that.

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

We took a mini moon break on New Year’s Eve which was so nice to get away for a few days especially after Christmas too. We have just booked our honeymoon to Japan for the cherry blossom season over the easter holidays.

Would you mind sharing details of any other suppliers you used? Ideally by their Instagram handle but if not, just a business name will do!

How did your partner propose?

A spot on the Ashdown Forest, where we’d been for one of our first walks together.

    • What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

To schedule time into the day, for just yourselves. It goes so fast, and you get separated a lot!

    • How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

Fross was the first (and last) shop I visited, just with my mum. It was effortless and not at all stressful!

    • How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

I think it was 4, and my dress was not one of the ones I picked to try to start with! The lovely Ava suggested it, after getting an idea of what I did and didn’t like!

    • Do you know the name of your dress designer?

It was the Alaska gown, by Modeca.

    • What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?

It was so lightweight and comfortable, and being a strapless A-line gown, with a chiffon skirt, it was not at all like many others! It has a translucent corset style top at the front, which I loved.

    • Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

I wore a Richards Design Chapel length veil, however it was a very windy day and it didn’t make it all the way down the aisle!

    • Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

Our wedding day was in an 18th century converted barn, we had a bbq and it was all very relaxed, which was the vibe we were going for.

    • What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

Honestly everything, but walking down the aisle and seeing my now husband will be something I always remember.

    1. Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

Just enjoy it, it really does go so fast and for me, it didn’t feel real! Don’t stress the small stuff – no one will notice!

    1. Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

We have been on a mini honeymoon to the Lake District with our dog, and are hoping to head to Africa in autumn.
