How did your partner propose?

My partner proposed to me overlooking Snowdonia in Wales whilst going for a walk
looking at the beautiful mountain views!

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

To not worry about what others may like and trying to please everyone, remembering the day is
about the two of you.

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

I had visited two other bridal shops and just knew as soon as I walked into Fross I knew I
would find my perfect dress! Ava made me feel so comfortable and loved the calm relaxing
atmosphere without any pressure.

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?
Stella York

Do you know the name of your dress designer?
Aire Barcelona

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?

I loved the dainty straps and the fact it was fitted but went out a tiny bit. I loved the pretty
delicate floral details on there.

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?
No veil, just some bunny tail and dried grass hair clips to match my husbands buttonhole.

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?
Seeing my husband Kieron with the biggest smile as I nervously walked down the aisle.

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

So many people said to make sure you spend time with your husband on the day. We had a
photographer and a videographer and whilst the guests were eating, we sneaked off to have some
sunset photos, and it meant we had more time together. Also, just after the ceremony whilst
guests were getting ready with their confetti,we went into the barn and had a glass of champagne
to celebrate we had just got married. It was amazing to have some time just the two of us.

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately
after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

Kieron is a teacher so We have booked to go to the Dominican Republic in October which
means we can drag out the ‘Wedding Bubble’.

How did your partner propose?
We were having a drink in our favourite bar in Santorini watching the sunset, it was
absolutely perfect!

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?
Make sure to take time to ourselves throughout the wedding day.

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?
Went to a few shops but then instantly found the one in Fross, it was the first I tried on in
there and fell in love! Ava was just the best person to make the whole experience so
memorable for me, my mum and my mother-in-law, we all had such a fun day looking at all the
dresses and drinking bubbles and it were all so very special.

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?
Probably around 10 in the other shops but I knew when I tried this one on in Fross that it
was the one, even though I felt like I should try on others afterwards I just wanted to put
my one back on as I knew 100%!

Do you know the name of your dress designer?
Aire Barcelona

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?
The neckline, the lace and the beautiful detail & train.

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?
Yes, veil and hair pearls, bracelet, ear-rings
Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.
We chose to have our wedding close to home as we love where we live. We fell in love with our
venue and it’s elegance the moment we stepped through the door and the fact it was on our
doorstep made it an even easier decision. Our colour theme was blush pink, ivory, white, gold.
Black tuxedos for the men in the bridal party. Blush pink dresses for bridesmaids and flower girls
in white & pink. We loved the fact we were so close to the beach, luckily the sun was shining so we
had photo’s here and a little walk just the two of us which felt so perfect as we love our seafront
walks. We had lots of entertainment throughout the day, including singing from family members
which made it so personal and memorable. We loved every minute of the day and wish we could
do it all over again!

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?
I don’t think I can name just one. so. Walking down the aisle and seeing my husband! Watching
my mum sing at our wedding reception and my husband’s sisters singing during the ceremony!
Having all of our family and friends together! The surprise singing waiter! Our first dance! Dancing
the night away to the amazing band with everyone!

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?
Try to spend as much time with your new husband as you can throughout the day, we took time to
ourselves a few times during the day and we really needed this, even if it’s brief!

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately
after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

We went to Mykonos the week after and we have also booked honeymoon part 2 for February
next year – a cruise around the Caribbean which we are very excited for!

How did your partner propose?

He took me on holiday to one of our favourite places that we had visited quite soon into our relationship in Cornwall, where we had made lots of memories before. We went out for a lovely walk to watch the sunrise at Porthcurno Beach, however the weather had other ideas! Still undeterred, he got down on one knee in the pouring rain and asked me to marry him. As he got up he was covered in mud from the path, but it made it all so memorable! The rain passed and we enjoyed a lovely walk along the beach newly engaged!

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

I know it is said a million times, but don’t sweat the small stuff! We made sure we had an excel spreadsheet of outgoing costs and finances as well as guest information. It helped us out so much with juggling payments etc and gave us a little bit of piece of mind when you have all the added stresses of normal life and work going on too!

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

I had seen a few of my friends had visited Fross to find a dress. I knew it was a place I wanted to visit, as they had so many nice dresses in the window. I also followed a range of different dress designers on Instagram. I saw that Fross were holding a trunk show weekend of one of my favourite designers so knew that had to be the perfect opportunity to see all the dresses I had previously seen on their social media page.

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

It was the first dress I tried on! Granted, I did try on another 10 after this, but nothing compared to the first!

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

Aire Barcelona

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?

I loved the way it gave me a waist line and the fitted top and detailing was beautiful. The skirt of the dress was such a lovely material and also gave it quite a traditional look which I loved.

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

I wore two sparkly pins in my hair and stud earrings. I didn’t want to wear too much and detract from the dress! I also wore a veil, also from Fross, however only kept this on for the ceremony and a few photos as never planned to keep it on for long.

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

I would say it was quite a relaxed day surrounded by all our loved ones. I loved the rustic feel and our colour theme was dusty blue. I wanted the flowers to be as bright and beautiful as possible, which they were! I wanted to make sure everyone had a good time and not let anything stress me out.

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

Walking down the isle and seeing my husband to be there waiting! Being surrounded by everyone we love, but also having photos as just husband and wife – make sure to take some time for just the two of you!

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

I think in the time we are in, where finances can be a struggle at times, is just to budget accordingly each month. We took slightly more time planning our wedding to make sure we had everything the way we wanted it and didn’t want to compromise on certain aspects of our day. There is also so many second-hand items out there. So many people are selling unwanted items, which don’t cost nearly as much as some hire companies will charge! Just take the time to shop around. There is so much choice out there too, once you have an idea it’s best to stick with it.

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

After our wedding, we went on a little UK tour, visiting Yorkshire, Wales and the Cotswolds. It was such a lovely time away and needed after a very busy few weeks. We hope to fly abroad next year for another late honeymoon.

How did your partner propose? Alex proposed at the top of the Mont Chéry in France at sunrise, in front of the Mont Blanc. It was such a special moment, although I had to earn it hiking up the mountain at 5am!

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding? To enjoy the run up as well as the day itself. The day does happen very quickly, but I enjoyed so many things in the run up so it felt bigger than the day. My mum and I made days out of dress shopping, shoe shopping, hair accessory shopping, bridesmaid dress shopping and then Alex and I enjoyed the food tasting, wine tasting and doing an engagement shoot with our photographer, Charlotte.

How did you go about finding your wedding dress? I always wanted a princess style dress with a bow on the back. I did some research on designers that had that style and then looked up bridal stores that stocked those designers. I found that was the best way to avoid trying on too many different styles of dresses and getting overwhelmed.

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’? I tried about 8 dresses in total (some were just for fun!) but I’d say there were only two I knew were real contenders and as soon as I tried on the Justin Alexander dress I knew it was the one, it had all the details I was looking for in my wedding dress.

Do you know the name of your dress designer? Justin Alexander

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose? The floral detail on the skirt, the deep V back, the bow and the drama of the train!

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories? I had a custom length veil made and a hair accessory from Eden b studio.

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

Everyone has always laughed at me that I think life is like a rom com; sentimental, romantic and happy. I think that summed up the vibe for the day and ultimately the most important thing to me was getting married and having all my friends and family there to celebrate. I loved the personal touches; my mum made our wedding cake and my Uncle made the bouquets.

What was your favourite moment from the day itself? Walking down the aisle with my Dad and seeing Alex at the end!

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides? To remember that the most important thing is you’re getting married and not to stress too much about everything else. Try to enjoy the run up to the wedding as much as possible so you create memories beyond just the day.

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans? We went to Argentina the day after our wedding and had such a lovely time exploring a part of the world we’d never been with and enjoying all the wine!

How did your partner propose? He spent the day with my children decorating the kitchen with rose petals balloons and banners, then they all surprised me when I came home

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding? To arrange the day that we wanted, rather than what everyone else thought we should have.

How did you go about finding your wedding dress? I looked online and found several I liked and then came and tried them on in store

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’? It was the second dress I tried on, and was one of the one’s I had liked online.

Do you know the name of your dress designer? Modeca

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose? It is simple, elegant, floaty and I loved the sleeves and cuffs.

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories? I wore a headband with gold leaves and pearls on, and pearl flower pins that matched the pearls on my dress. I bought the headband after seeing the gorgeous headbands Kate and Princess Charlotte wore at the coronation!

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

What we really wanted for our wedding day was it to be relaxed, fun, stylish, not at all pretentious, something for everyone to enjoy.  We chose a stylish venue at Alexander House and planned our ceremony, and the whole vibe to be a relaxed but classy wedding, with lots of fun and to give everyone the freedom to enjoy it however the wanted.  We had quite a lot of children who were going to attend as they are an important part of our lives, and we wanted them to feel just as included as the adults.  We had an outdoor wedding at the Gazebo in the gardens, followed by a party.  We didn’t want the formalities of a sit down meal, table plans and suchlike, we wanted everyone to be able to relax and enjoy the evening however they wanted to.

What was your favourite moment from the day itself? The smile that Matthew and I shared after I had walked down the aisle and stood next to him waiting to be married.

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides? Make sure you feel like youself in your wedding dress and with your hair and makeup.

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans? We went to Santorini just over a week after the wedding. (we had my twins birthday 4 days after the wedding, so wanted to celebrate that before going away)

Leigh’s Perfect Wedding Day

Feb 08, 2023

How did your partner propose?

I was taken to Quaglinos in London for a lovely meal and live acoustic music.

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?
Don’t feel you have to follow tradition or feel like you have to please people

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?
Visited a couple of shops and tried on variety of dresses, even after I found the one.

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?
14? I had seen the dress I wanted online, but choose to ride through the experience of trying on different types of dresses

Do you know the name of your dress designer?
Madi Lane

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?
Long Sleeved and laced

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?
I wore my mum’s veil which was altered slighlty.

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.
We got married in a barn in the South downs. The theme was rustic, autumnal and subtle. I love being creative and wanted to ensure a vintage vibe was seen through my day. We used vintage frames on a pallet for our table plan, I hand painted the order of the service on wooden planks, we wrote on a mirror for our Welcome sign. I liked the slight mismatch of items and how it didn’t all match completely.

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?
Just after the ceremony, where we both took in how we felt and had the moment to ourselves.

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?
Do not compare to anything on social media, it is so hard to get drawn in and want it all.

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?
We decided to go on a city break to Barcelona a couple of days after the wedding and then enjoy the run up to Christmas. We have booked to go on our official honeymoon in October 2023 to Asia.

How did your partner propose?
It was very romantic and Josh put a lot of thought into it! I have been visiting a certain area of Spain since I was a little girl and there is a particular walk I always do when I go which is from one beach bay to another with amazing views on route. When I first took Josh to Spain I took him on the walk, telling him all the fond memories I had of the walk….Josh logged this in his memory bank as could see how much the walk meant to me and knew one day he would propose to me there. Years later the time had finally come (but I had NO idea)…Josh planned a “date night” for us to go on the walk followed by a meal at our favourite restaurant…during the walk he suggested we stop for a photo, we took some photos and then he just held me while saying lots of lovely things before getting on one knee and asking me to marry him. It was a magical moment and I was blown away (and I course said YES)! We then headed to the beach where my family and friends were waiting (also arranged by Josh) for us to all celebrate with a drink before Josh and I headed to the restaurant. It was perfect!

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

It is all a bit of a blur now…but I did find the whole wedding planning very stressfully despite everyone’s advice being to not get stressed and enjoy the ride!

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

I had a Pinterest board full of styles I liked and simply started booking up places locally and/or recommend by friends and family.

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

I am not going to lie I tried on over 30 dresses which is way too much! I wanted to give every style a go but then had the issue that I loved basically everything I tried and got stuck choosing between two very different styles.

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

Madison James

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?

So many things made me fall in love with it…the style, the fit, the lace design was stunning and unique as it was made up of tiny beads! It also has a timeless feel.

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

The dress was so stunning (especially at the back) so I decided not to wear a veil as it would distract and cover up the dress. I simply wore a bridal hair accessory and some elegant jewellery.

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

Our wedding day was amazing and we are so pleased with how it turned out. We got married at Buxted Park Hotel and the broad theme was “English elegance with a touch of botanical”. We kept our colour scheme very simple with lots of green foliage and white flowers. The bridesmaids where in a blush/champagne dresses and the groomsman were in black dinner suits. Luckily the weather was on our side so we were able to have an outdoor ceremony followed by reception drinks on the lawns while being serenaded by a 3 piece jazz band called The Jazz Trio. The wedding breakfast was a sit down 3 course meal (with speeches in between courses to help break them up). For the evening we had an incredible 13 piece band called The Blunter Brothers who were brilliant and got everyone dancing!

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

We loved the whole day from start to finish so it is hard to pick a favourite moment…but it has to be when we said our wedding vows!

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

…again it is all a bit of a blur now and I think everyone’s wedding journey is so different it is hard to give any advice apart from the usual “don’t get stressed and enjoy the journey”…which I did not listen to haha!

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

The day after the wedding we hosted an after party at my parents house were we had a bouncy castle, soft play, princess appearance, a couple of musicians playing acoustic guitars and fire engine cooking up home made pizzas…I even wore my wedding dress again as I loved it so much and thought why the hell not! It was a great day to reminisce with friends and family. The day after we headed off on our honeymoon where we spent the first week in Santorin and the second week in Crete.

Katrice’s Perfect Wedding Day

How did your partner propose?
He took me away to Athens in Greece and when we arrived we got changed and we went to a huge hill/mount which overlooked all of the city and when i turned around he was on one knee.

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?
Never leave anything till last minute get everything done as soon as you can so on the weeks leading up you can relax and enjoy the time before you become a wife.

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?
I had found Fross on instagram a couple of years prior to being engaged as I loved the designers they had so as soon as i was engaged I knew I needed to book a VIP appointment. I also live 3 hours away.

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?
I tried 8/9 with you and whittled it down to a top 3, but tried on 6 at another shop and didn’t like any of them

Do you know the name of your dress designer?
Maddison James

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?
It made me feel beautiful and like a proper bride, it hugged where i wanted it to and then made me look my best.

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?
I got a custom made veil and also a diamonte headband for the evening

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.
I knew where I wanted to get married 5 years before I was proposed to, holkham hall was my dream venue, i went for classic feel with stunning florals. I loved lanterns and flowers, I also fell in love with sage green and dusty pink together.

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?
I loved the actual wedding ceremony as seeing my husband at the end of the aisle was the moment I always waited for.

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?
Be overly prepared (I was like Monica from friends) as i got to relax the week to my wedding, also know that not everything will be perfect but that’s fine you won’t even be bothered about it on the day.

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?
We are going to a few places in America This August so we will be there for our 1st wedding anniversary

I wore a veil and loved it!

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

We got married abroad in Cyprus with a small group of around 30 of our closest friends and family. We wanted a really relaxed and chilled day and this is exactly what we had. The whole day was so stress free and we just had the best time!

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

The day was absolutely perfect but the memory I’ll never forget was walking down the aisle. My daughters and god daughter as my flower girls and my best friend and sister as bridesmaids. My best friend sang us down the aisle and was incredible, it was the most special moment!

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

Not to stress about the small things! You or your guest won’t notice them on the day!

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

We went to Turkey for a week, 1 week after the wedding. We went all inclusive, adults only (left the kids at home😂) and had the most amazing time.
