How did your partner propose?

On Branscombe beach in Devon.

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?
Take a moment for both of you on the big day to appreciate what’s around you.

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

Researched different shops online and went for dress fittings until I found the one.

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

Around 10.

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

Madi Lane.

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?
I adored the floral lace design which I thought was so unique and I loved how delicate it was. I also loved the long train.

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?
Yes I wore a veil.

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.
I know that it has probably been said many times but it genuinely was the best day of our lives, having everyone around us that we love, the atmosphere, the venue, the hottest day in November and the fact that the dance floor was never empty!

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?
The ceremony.

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?
Embrace the planning and run up to the wedding as it comes around so quickly and it’s sad once it’s all over.

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?
We went on a honeymoon to Cuba 2 days after our wedding.

Would you mind sharing details of any other suppliers you used?
Ideally by their Instagram handle but if not, just a business name will do!

How did your partner propose?

In Iceland! We were snowmobiling on the largest glacier and just as the sun was setting he said let’s take a picture over here, next thing I know he was on one knee and all I could say was “OMG!” It was truly breathtaking!

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

It’s your day, so choose exactly what you want for it and remember to have a moment just you two in the evening to take it all in!

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

I came to Fross Wedding collections and had such an fantastic experience that I didn’t look anywhere else!

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

Around 6!

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

Justin Alexander, and then my second dress worn to my UK wedding and the evening of France was Stella York.

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?

The detail and the way it felt when I put it on! I didn’t want a strapless dress but had seen the lace and beading and really loved the shape of the dress. When it was on I just knew, it felt so different to all of the others and then Fross helped me to realise we could custom make sleeves to build exactly the dress I had pictured in my head!

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

Yes a cathedral length veil

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

When we imagined getting married we never pictured it being in the UK, we wanted something that was a real weekend of celebration, not over in a day. We then looked at where had multiple travel options, and fell in love with the idea of a chateau in France, we found the venue online and went to view a few with our wedding planners Marry Me in France a few months later. The fairytale chateau had our hearts from the start. It was so chilled, all about family and the kids having the best time too. I wanted timeless elegance but modern so kept flowers and decor more traditional roses, peonies and hydrangea. We lit the chateau so it was magical in the evening and for the barn, and then I had @creationsandcelebrationsltd do a full balloon centre for the dancing. We kept some French traditions of a later wedding (3pm) entering to white napkins being swung, and crocembouche instead of wedding cake! We all ended up in the pool at 2:30am! Most of our guests stayed at the chateau and surrounding buildings on site from Thursday to Monday, we held a pizza night the night before the wedding which was so fun and then the day after had a pool party BBQ which was AMAZING. So much good food and fun! Finished the weekend off beautifully star gazing on the last night with all our best friends.

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

It’s so hard to choose! Probably the dinner and speeches, the speeches blew us away they were so funny yet so emotional and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room! Just to have all of the people who mean the most to us in one room full of so much love was incredible!

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

Aim to be ready an hour before the ceremony so you have time for any last minute touch ups and photos etc, it goes so quickly so you need more time then you think!

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

Yes, Jack surprised me with a trip to Santorini in September in my wedding card that I opened in the morning! We stayed in France for another week after the wedding too which was lovely.

How did your partner propose?

We were in Scotland on a steam train having champagne afternoon tea and were unexpectedly in a carriage all to ourselves. After the train was on its return journey and the engine attached to our carriage, Alan got down on one knee and proposed!

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run-up to your wedding?

Remember on the day to make time for you as a couple away from your guests.

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

Firstly, I knew I wanted to go to a boutique near my Mum and Dad, as well as the venue. After researching the different boutiques and the designers they stocked, I chose Fross as there was a good selection of different styles and brands I liked the look of at fair prices.

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one?
I think between Mum, myself, and my bridesmaid Rhi we selected 8 dresses for me to try on. However, I ended up picking the first dress.

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

 Madi Lane

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?
I felt beautiful in the dress and got ‘the feeling’ when I looked in the mirror. The detailing is gorgeous, particularly on the back and train.

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?
No veil, but I did wear some pearl drop earrings.

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

We wanted a day when our guests were going to have a great party with us. It was lovely to turn around to see everyone chatting and getting along.

What was your favorite moment from the day itself?
I genuinely loved the whole day. What was very memorable was all our guests in a circle around us on the dance floor at the end of the night, singing along to Hey Jude.

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?
Make sure all your suppliers know your expectations of them for the day so you can leave it to the experts and enjoy it. Turn your phone off!

Are you taking a honeymoon, and if so, when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after or sometime later), and what are your plans?

Yes – we were married on Saturday and flew out to Kenya on Tuesday. We went on a safari in the Masai Mara, followed by a week on the coast in Watamu.

How did your partner propose?

Shane took me on a trip to Loch Lomond for the weekend, it was a beautiful sunny day so we went on a hike up one of the trails. His intention was to propose at the top but being such a lucky day for the weather for November in Scotland it was pretty busy, we are quite private people so he made a plan B to propose around the Loch at sunset. Turns out this was also very busy so we went back to our accommodation and he ended up proposing in the hot tub under the stars with a bottle of fizz!

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

That weddings are as stressful as you make them, don’t sweat the small stuff and remember what parts are most important to you.

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

I knew I wanted to get married the following year so booked to go to Fross just after Christmas, I had made another booking for Feb at another boutique which I ended up cancelling as I found my dress on the first visit to Fross! My dress was off the rail, size 14 which Helen the miracle seamstress took down to a 6-8.

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

I tried on around 5-7 dresses, one of which ended up being my dress.

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

Justin Alexandra.

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?

My dress wasn’t what I envisioned myself wearing for my wedding. I wanted something simple and classic. We picked up this dress as it embodied those aspects, although I thought I would go for some more structured and ‘sexy’. The reaction of all my friends and family when I came out in it really left an impression on me and I loved that the dress wasn’t what people would have expected me to wear. The dress was so simple, yet beautiful! It was also really important to me to not spend a huge amount on the dress so the opportunity to get my dress for less than £800 was also a dream.

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

Yes I wore a veil and hair pins both from Eden B in Tunbridge Wells.

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

The wedding day was ay Highley Manor, again I wanted it to be simple, classy and have a vintage / old Hollywood style glam to it. The flowers were all white and green foliage with simple décor and hand made favours. The guys wore tuxes and I gave my guest a neutral, earthy colour pallet so everything synced. We had a small party, 36 guests to keep the day intimate and fun!  It was so important to me that we didn’t spend our day small talking and only had people there who we really wanted to be a part of our day. The main thing I focused on was it being fun and relaxed. We had a vintage photo booth (booth19) and a live band (Go Commando) and just the best food and drinks!

I wanted a venue with accommodation so we could hang out with the gang staying the night and extend the wedding as much as possible. In fact, we stayed up until 2am in front of the fire, went out and did sparklers I the car park then woke up in the morning to breakfast and a vineyard tour. It was perfect.

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

Getting ready with my girls in the morning and dancing the night away with everyone!

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

Weddings are as stressful as you make them, it is easy to get wrapped up in the fine details and spend money on things you think or are told you need. Make notes early on of the key aspects that are important to you both and that you prefer to put the larger sums of money to (for me, this was photographer, venue with accommodation, live music and a classic/vintage vibe), there is then a lot of aspects you can either do yourself or source on a budget – all the other stuff falls into place.

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

We went away straight away for a mini-moon to Mallorca (Soller) and stayed in a rural adults only retreat. Walked around small Mallorcan towns drinking Sangria and eating Tapas!

We had a rustic wedding at my parents farm. We went for a marquee with half the ceiling/ roof see through (fairylights along the panels which looked amazing at night). I used Pinterest to help me with some ideas but other than that i tried to repurpose lots of the items on the farm for example we had a giant ice beer bucket using the tractor and trough!

Coming down the lane in our landrover celebrating with a glass of champagne. The dancing also as the band were great!

How did your partner propose?

He proposed on Christmas Eve at home – just the two of us 😊

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

Not to stress too much about the little details because all that matters is the two of you getting married, with all your loved ones around you.

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

I live local to Fross so it was the first place I looked – I fell in love with a dress straight away so didn’t need to look anywhere else.

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

5 I believe – all at Fross.

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

Justin Alexander.

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

I did wear a veil.

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

How did your partner propose?

On a private hike whilst staying at the Pangkor Laut resort in Malaysia, on Christmas eve 2016.

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

The day will be a whirlwind, so make sure you make time for you and your partner to have 5 minutes here and there for a hug or a chat, so you can pause and soak it all in.

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

I started in local Brighton shops and kept thinking I’d found the one but would then have doubts when I got home. I was trying to work out what style I really wanted and when I came to Fross, the first dress I put my hands on was the perfect dress, and so I bought it and didn’t have any doubts!

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

Maybe 9 or 10

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

Aire Barcelona

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?

The lace detail, it had art deco vibe, that was subtle and looked very elegant.

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

I bought a veil but forgot it in the rush to be ready on time (I was totally gutted when I realised!). I had a pearl hair comb and pearl earrings.

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

It was incredible from start to finish. We had a humanist celebrant (and also a friend) conduct the ceremony. It was personal, authentic and provided space to show our vulnerabilities. It was full of love and laughter and lots of special personal touches. Everyone commented how they’d never been to a ceremony like it. It was just a very happy day from then on in. The sun shone for us and everyone was in the mood for fun and partying. We had it at Pelham House, a gorgeous venue that also has art deco feel to it.

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

So many moments… the ceremony, listening to an ‘Ode’ written by our two mutual friends during the ceremony, all the speeches, our first dance, dancing with my mum and then finally relaxing with my friends once the children were tucked up in bed.

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

Get a head massage or see a cranial osteopath a few days before the big day to release any tension in the head that may be built up from all the planning and the challenges that can arise.

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

Hopefully around christmas time this year, or maybe next summer – destination to be decided.

How did your partner propose?

It was November 5th, this date already holds a special place in our hearts as we are part of one of Sussex’s biggest bonfire societies. It was during lockdown so we were at home just us two. My partner filled the house with rose petals and candle light, with a background of fireworks he got down on one knee, it was so special. The ring fitted perfectly!

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

Try not to stress the small things! I wanted my day to be calm and relaxed, so I made sure I was in the run up to it.

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

I was recommended Fross by a number of friends and relatives.

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

I think I tried about 10! The girls were so patient with me, but it was relatively quick. I think once they are on you know straight away if it’s right or not.

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

It’s by Justin Alexander.

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?

I felt like it was me, like it was what I had imagined all my life but didn’t think would be possible.

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

I wore a veil and floral head piece both from Fross.

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

We had a big traditional church wedding, then then reception was in the heat of the countryside next to a beautiful lake. It was relaxed and we wanted to make sure our guests felt special and taken care of all day. We had great food, loads of drinks and even more dancing! Finished off with a silent disco at the end of the night.

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

Walking down the aisle and meeting my soon to be husband at the altar.

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

Lots of people said it to me in the lead up to the day but I didn’t realise how true it is until now, the day really does go so quickly try to take some time together to take it all in.

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

We went away for a few days shortly after the wedding. We went to Chewton Glen, it’s a luxury spa hotel in the new forest. We had the best time! We stayed in a tree house, with a log burner in the room and a hot tub on the balcony! It was a heavenly few days of relaxation and some lovely spa treatments.

How did your partner propose?

We were on holiday in Greece, Rhodes where he proposed to me when we was looking around the Greek ancient ruins . It was very quiet, almost just us two when he proposed ! – minus a couple of Spanish people on the bridge above us who cheered for us 🙂

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

It’s your day, enjoy it and take little 10min breaks/time out where you and your now husband can spend a few minutes together. Then you can take those moments to breath and enjoy each other on the day too and share a drink together happyily in your bubble! The day goes so fast so you will appreciate those little moments together.

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

A friend got her dress from yourselves and I remember as soon as I walked in the shop, I knew that’s where I’d also get mine one day . (I wasn’t even with my now husband then!) But it had such a warm welcome , shop has a gorgeous layout and a variety of dresses to suit all shapes and budgets!

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

It was the first dress I tried on ! But I still tried a few other on after . I even went to another shop but kept thinking about this one dress and soon went back to make that dress mine!

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

Justine Alexandra Sydney, misty rose !

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?

It had the most beautiful detail on it. It wasn’t too much lace but enough to feel elegant . I love the fact it wasn’t white, ivory etc it had a tiny of pink . “Misty rose” which gave it a unique feel. Something which would wow my family and friends . It wowed me !

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

veil – linzi jay veil! LA930v3

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

Well it was nearly 40 degrees so a hot day is an understatement!! But , it was magical! Everyone had a wonderful time, there was some family and friends we hadn’t seen for a few years due to COVID , some traveled from southern France to be with us on our special day!
My husband is a very nervous speaker so he had someone write a song for me based on our story through words and stories my husband told him about! He got an artist I’m very fond of, Jamie Mathias to sing it ! I was shocked to say the least and it was beautiful! So many people commented to say how thoughtful and different the idea was. I also have this amazing song to keep forever and it’s mine !

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

Seeing so many friends and family happily together after such a strange few years! We all danced, sung, laughed , hugged …. It was just perfect.

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

Remember it’s your day but also remember to relax. Don’t stress too much over detail or anything for that matter . The day goes so quickly , you just want to make sure YOU and your husband have the best day making memories together with each other and your friends and family 🙂

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

So we did a mini moon to Shropshire and did a dome pod glamping experience ! It was amazing , hot tub, fire pit, pizza oven and BBQ . It was just gorgeous weather when we went away too. Even did a day trip to Cadbury world haha
We plan to do a two week honeymoon next year . Destination has yet to be decided!
