Amanda’s “Tractors and Wood” Wedding

We got in touch with bride Amanda to find out all about her “tractors and wood”-themed garden wedding – and of course her Stella York bridal gown!
How did your partner propose?
It was our 10 year anniversary and he took me for a walk and picnic on the South Downs before getting down on one knee and popping the question!
What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?
How did you go about finding your wedding dress?
Living in Uckfield meant Fross was my local bridal shop and one I’d walked past lots of times! It was my first port of call and I knew I wanted to try on a selection of wedding dress styles. The vision I had in my head was very different to the wedding dress I actually chose!
How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?
What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?
It was a typical princess dress, full skirt, long train and beautiful detail. I’d tried it on as a bit of a joke but then realised I actually loved it. If you can’t wear a big dress on your wedding day, when can you?!
Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?
Tell us a little about your wedding day
What was your favourite moment from the day itself?
Taking our first dance on a table that my husband had made. It wasn’t planned but made our first dance even more memorable and didn’t stop people joining us – luckily the table was well enough made that it was able to take the weight!
Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We went to Ibiza two days after our wedding day. Even if you can’t get away for your full honeymoon immediately I’d definitely recommend taking some time away with your husband even if it’s just a couple of nights so you can stay in your wedding bubble!
