Elainie’s Autumn Wedding

How did your partner propose?

On a dog walk on Petworth Park. It was the perfect moment with just the three of us!

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

Remember its your day, don’t let people dictate how that day goes.

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

I was sent a dress online by a friend, it was what I thought it wanted! Fitted, full lace, long sleeves. Waited months for Fross to receive the dress from the designer only to hate it when trying it on. Ended up in a princess dress with no lace!

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

It wasn’t many, I tried not to overwhelm myself, maybe 6 or 7.

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

Justin Alexander

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?

I didn’t have that ‘dress moment’ where we all cried which was hard as for ages it made me worry I hadn’t made the right choice. However it made me feel beautiful.

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

Yes I wore a veil which was my something borrowed and a hair piece from Fross.

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

We chose our wedding date based on our favourite time of year and favourite colours! Colours being orange and green it had to be Autumn. The vibe was just for everyone to have the best day (free bar helped that one) We planned for the weather to be awful, so we expected moody colours and for it all to be inside. Instead, we had a freak day of incredible sunshine so the wedding ended up outside!

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

I honestly couldn’t choose a favourite part, every part of the day was perfect.

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

Don’t stress! Its so easy to get caught up in the little bits that at the end of the day you wont remember. My motto was if I hadn’t organised/booked it 4 weeks before then it obviously wasn’t important enough. The day goes by so quickly and its impossible to take it all in. the lead up to the wedding is really exciting, don’t ruin that by stressing out.

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

A wedding during the pandemic was stressful enough so we didn’t want to book straight away as it was an added worry. We have now booked to go to the Maldives in February so a few months after our wedding date. The wedding blues hit us hard so it was nice to have a week with family and friends reminiscing on the day.
