Faye’s Secret ‘Midsummer Night’s Dream’

We couldn’t wait to catchup with Faye to find out all about her secret wedding and her beautiful gown by St Patrick bridal.

How did your partner propose?

He proposed at a Bond themed party we had organised, in front of 30 friends!

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to the big day?

Take time out at the wedding and step back. Look, really look around and SEE the people and the place.

How did you go about finding the perfect wedding dress?

I created a Pinterest page of dresses and styles I liked, then internet searches on local shops, followed by research of designers.

How many dresses did you try on before finding The One?

I tried three different locations before finding Fross, and tried on 5-6 dresses in each place.

What made you fall in love with the dress you chose?

Realising the faults in other dresses…and finding none in ‘The One’.

What bridal accessories did you choose?

Just a veil…plus a long backdrop necklace and earrings.

Tell us about your wedding day.

Our wedding was a secret to all our guests. They knew where they had to go and what time, but nothing more. We transported them in an old London bus to a beautiful small church. The bus broke down on the way (!) causing much anxiety to the groom but eventually he made it to the church! Not on time! And later than me but it makes for a good story now. We returned to our beautiful barn for the reception.

What was your favourite moment from your big day?

What theme did you pick for the wedding?

‘A Midsummer Nights Dream’ theme as the wedding was on midsummers day.

What advice would you give to other brides-to-be?

Plan, plan, plan…then filter and reduce. Less is more.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

We’ve not gone yet!

Who were your suppliers for your big day?
