Sarah’s Perfect Wedding Day

How did your partner propose? It was very unexciting!!! Friday night after a stressful week. He has been nagging me all day to go for a walk and I kept saying NO! so, in the end he asked me sat on the bed after asked me about my day! I am still not sure I have actually said yes!

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding? Don’t sweat the small stuff! And enjoy it! Its such a special time. Also, don’t share too many details with too many people unless you want a lot of conflicting views on things! We loved having surprises for people on the day

How did you go about finding your wedding dress? Fross was the first place we came! I knew I wanted something beaded, but not necessarily long and with a train! I tried on a load of dresses, and quickly ruled out a bunch of styles! The dress I ended up with, my mum could hide how much she knew it was the one! It was long, a massive train and the most amazing dress!

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’? not that many, maybe 5 / 6! So much soon, I felt like I needed to try on more! But when I left the shop, all I could think about was ‘the one’

Do you know the name of your dress designer? Tiffany

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose? I just felt like it was made for me! even though it was too big, it just did all the right things! Perfect strangers in the shop were almost telling me that it was the one!

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories? NO veil, but a beaded headpiece. The back of the dress was too beautiful for a veil

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc. We had an intermate, Christmasy, sparkly wedding! We wanted it to be super chilled and for all our guests to be able to let their hair down! It was PERPECT! I wish we could do it all again!

What was your favourite moment from the day itself? Impossible to say – never had nerves like it, but it was just the best day! When we got the pictures back, I was literally smiling every moment of the day!

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides? Just enjoy it! Don’t over think it, and do exactly what you and your partner want! Also – I know everyone says it, but it goes so so quickly – remember to take time to take it all in!

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans? We went on our honeymoon 2 days after, and went to Sri Lanka for Christmas! Was the best to go away soon after, it really allowed us to decompress and chat endlessly about our day!

Would you mind sharing details of any other suppliers you used? Ideally by their Instagram handle but if not, just a business name will do!
