Alysha’s Wedding Day In Modeca

How did your partner propose?

We went on a star gazing tour up mount Teide in Tenerife. It was quite funny actually in a way as a couple of things happened that could have put James right off! One of them happened after our coach had to stop for a couple that were having their wedding photos taken in the middle of the road as it looked amazing up there. As we were waiting for them to finish the tour guide said ‘how romantic, you never know ladies it’s been known to happen on this tour for people to get engaged! It could be you tonight!’ – I then turned to James and said ‘HA! How awkward would that be’ Luckily I didn’t put him off, and he proposed about 20 minutes later just as the sun was setting. I’ve honestly never seen the sky look more beautiful.

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

Breathe, relax and don’t stress over the little things. Make sure you take time away from wedding planning it doesn’t have to take over your life!

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

I looked online for local stores but Fross was recommended to me by a friend who had recently got married. I looked at the store online and knew I had to go as soon as I saw the pictures.

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

I must have tried on around 30 dresses, I definitely went a little dress blind.

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

Modeca – Forest

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?

It had everything I was looking for in a dress. Detailed back, floral lace and a nice long train. It was absolutely beautiful and I loved it the second I put it on.

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

I wore a long veil and a silver hair comb.

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

I loved the colour combos of dusty blue, sage green and grey. Once I found the perfect bridesmaid dresses in dusty blue I then made sure that we had a cohesive feel throughout the day. Lots of greenery and white flowers. Pinterest definitely helped me a lot with working out what styles I liked.

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

Finally turning the corner and seeing my future husband at the end (so cliché I know but it’s true!)

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

Make sure you live in the moment when it comes to the big day, soak it all up because it really does fly by as quickly as everyone tells you. Also make sure you take little moments just for you and your husband to stand back just for yourselves and to just watch everyone enjoying the day.

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

We are planning on taking our honeymoon this year (we got married last year October 30 th ) We are planning on somewhere in the Caribbean –can’t wait!
