Anamaria’s Destination Wedding
Feb 20, 2020
Anamaria wore not one but TWO gowns for her dreamy destination wedding, including a Stella York gown for the ceremony and a customised Watters wedding dress in the evening!
How did your partner propose?
On our 3 year anniversary – it was Christmas Eve and we were in Romania, at home in a very intimate atmosphere he just got down on one knee and he just proposed. I had a shock and panicked a bit before answering …he thought for a moment I was going to say ‘no’, that was a bit funny!
What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?
It is your day! It can be tough sometimes trying to consider views and values of family/friends. But it’s all about you, what you wish and what your dream is, do not let anyone take that from you!
How did you go about finding your wedding dress?
I think I was the one-in-a-million lucky person who found THE dress on the first attempt. I had a bit of scroll up and down wedding websites and Fross had a sale/open day on, where you could actually buy there-and-then if you would want to. Being 30 minutes away from where I live I thought: let’s go! When I arrived I found a smallish boutique that won me over straight away, the rest is history 🙂
How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?
Actually my dress was the first one I tried, having tried more after I then realised there was nothing that I liked more and I just went for it and bought it straight away! [Anamaria chose Iona by Stella York, and a second dress for the reception by Watters that was shortened by our seamstress Helen].
What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?
I liked was that it was a uniques dress, hand-made and there were no others the same! The chosen dress was nothing like I had dreamed of – my dream dress was all wavy, big and bold, but and I had chosen a very fitted, embroidered low back dress that I absolutely loved. It just made my body look perfect and it was perfect fit.
Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?
Yes, I wore a veil and forehead jewellery.
Tell us about your wedding day.
What was your favourite moment from the day itself?
As I was walking up the aisle with my little boy and my dad, seeing the look on my husband’s face with tears in his eyes.
Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?
Just enjoy it, it is a one-off moment so make it memorable!
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We are planning a honeymoon in Cuba in a few years’ time, only because of our family set up with a baby and a 6-year-old.
WHO WERE YOUR SUPPLIERS FOR YOUR BIG DAY?
All our suppliers were from Bulgaria and booked through our local wedding planner!
