Cara’s Perfect Wedding Day

How did your partner propose?
Ian proposed to me at The Fairy pools on the Isle of Skye whilst we were away for the weekend in March ’24’.
What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?
I would always advise brides to relax as possible – please don’t stress about things we have no control over. The major stress I find is the weather and I can assure you it rained very hard on our wedding day, but it didn’t matter in the slightest – we even had the most stunning double rainbow.
How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?
I tried on a fair few dresses and the dress I chose didn’t excite me much when I looked at it on the hanger but as soon as I put it on, I knew it was the one! I fell in love straight away.
Do you know the name of your dress designer?
The designer I believe is Presley and the dress is Casablanca (could be the other way round)
What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?
I fell in love with the dress because it was ‘different’ without being too out there.
Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?
I didn’t have a veil, but the dress had a beautiful cape which took the dress to another level.
Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.
Our wedding day was very intimate. We both wanted just a few close friends and family with us and specifically wanted to be married in a Scottish castle; and what better castle to choose than the one we visited on the day of our engagement.
We had our wedding in the evening at 6:30 and it was wonderful because I had a lovely day getting ready with my daughters and my mum, plus those who made the trip to Scotland with us.
The weather was very moody, as mentioned before, but everyone had the most fantastic time
What was your favourite moment from the day itself?
My favourite moment was being piped over the bridge by a lovely bagpiper with my eldest son on my arm, who gave me away, and being followed by my other son and two daughters. It was a very special moment.
Obviously being announced as husband and wife was up there too but when we were having our photos taken and we saw the double rainbow, it just felt incredible.
Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?
My advice would be to not put any pressure on yourselves.
Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?
Unfortunately, no honeymoon has been booked as yet as we are in the process of moving house and our youngest daughter starts school in September. Hopefully next year we can go somewhere and celebrate – Ian is in charge and my only request is it needs to be HOT!!
Would you mind sharing details of any other suppliers you used? Ideally by their Instagram handle but if not, just a business name will do!
