Chelsea’s Country Garden Wedding
Sep 17, 2019
We caught up with Chelsea to find out all about her country garden wedding in the South Downs, and of course to see how beautiful she looked in her Justin Alexander gown!
How did your partner propose?
He took me for a walk along Camber Sands. where he had hidden a bottle of Veuve in the sand and got down on one knee. He had gotten my best friend involved so she had hidden the champagne and was hiding taking photos. It’s one of our favourite places to go as a couple so was very special.
What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?
Remember no one knows if something is missing from your special day, they’ll think it’s perfect no matter what.
How did you go about finding your wedding dress?
I grew up in Uckfield so have always walked past Fross’s store and dreamt of trying on my wedding dress, so this seemed like the perfect place to start. I went with my mum and two sisters. We also went to some bridal stores in Tunbridge Wells to try on more dresses and different styles.
How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?
I think I tried on about 15 but the one I bought was actually the 2nd dress I tried on in Fross’s boutique – nothing else matched up.
What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?
Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?
I wore a long veil which my aunt made for me and gypsophila in my hair.
Tell us about your wedding day
What was your favourite moment from the day itself?
Getting to spend a whole day with every single person we love most in the world and obviously marrying the man of my dreams.
Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?
Forget about all the little details on the day, don’t get stressed if people aren’t doing exactly what you want and don’t disappear for hours having photographs. This is the only day in your life you’ll have everyone you love in one place, so make sure you spend as much time with them as possible.
How was your honeymoon?
We went to Bali for our honeymoon a month after we got married. We stayed in Seminyak were we did surfing lessons, had couple’s massages, ate and drank. We then moved on to Ubud to soak in the culture, climb a volcano, watch the sunrise and go white water rafting. It was the holiday of a lifetime.
