Chloe’s Perfect Wedding Day
How did your partner propose?
At our first home – I had no idea! It was during COVID 19 lockdown. He had put rose petals leading upstairs to our bedroom with notes as I went. In our room there was candles everywhere. It was beautiful.
What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?
Enjoy every moment of organising and don’t worry about the small things!
How did you go about finding your wedding dress?
I had a rough idea of what I wanted but wasn’t totally sure. Fross was my second bridal shop of the day and they were just amazing! The dresses were worlds apart from the ones I had tried on in the previous shop.
How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?
Probably about 20! I tried on every possible style imaginable to make sure I had ruled out the ones that didn’t suit me. I remember people saying to me that it is always the way that you go for something you weren’t expecting and that was definitely right!
Do you know the name of your dress designer?
Madi lane.
What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?
I loved the mocha colour, it was so unusual and flattering. I also loved how sparkly it was and how modern it was for a bridal gown
Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?
Yes I wore a veil, Charlotte Mills shoes and some delicate earrings and a hair piece. I didn’t need much jewellery due to how sparkly the dress was!
Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.
It was everything we dreamed of! Our colour theme was very summery – blush pink, sage green and whites. My bridemaids wore sage green multiway dresses. We had lots of greenery and foliage! For our table decorations we had wisteria trees and matching flower bouquets. We wanted everyone to love the day as much as we did and we definitely achieved that. We wanted good food, lots of drink , dancing and sunshine. Our DJ was just brilliant and we can’t recommend him enough! The day throughout very emotional, we just felt so much love around us and feel so lucky!
What was your favourite moment from the day itself?
My favourite part was walking down the aisle and seeing Josh at the end. It was so emotional. I also loved getting ready with all of my bridesmaids, it was so special to have them all there by my side.
Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?
Book all of the big things first and far in advance! That way you will have your first choice for most suppliers. Also, just take in every second of the organising. I found it stressful at times but because we spaced things out over our 2 years of planning, it didn’t seem so overwhelming. Also, remember it is YOUR day and not anybody else’s. Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?# We went to the Maldives a couple of days after! It was beautiful and so relaxing, just what we needed.
Would you mind sharing details of any other suppliers you used? Ideally by their Instagram handle but if not, just a business name will do!
