Claudia’s Black Tie Wedding

Claudia’s Black Tie Wedding In Eddy K

How did your partner propose?

Warwick proposed to me at my favourite restaurant called Villa Tiberio whilst on holiday in Marbella. After he proposed he also had another surprise and had arranged for both our families to be there and told me to turn around and they all appeared behind me, which was such a lovely surprise on top of the proposal! We then all had dinner together to celebrate in the beautiful gardens of the Villa.

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

Everyone says this but honestly it is so so true! But just enjoy the day as it goes so quickly!! You’ve put so much time and effort into all the planning and the day goes by in a flash! So just enjoy every moment and don’t sweat the small stuff!

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

Amazingly enough Fross was the first shop I went too and the dress I bought was actually the first one I tried on! Fross and the team were all so lovely and made the whole experience so enjoyable!

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

I think I only tried on about 4 dresses in total! After that I just knew that the first dress I tried was the one!

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

Eddy K

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?

I loved the dress when I first put it on as it just made me feel amazing! All the detailing and the ruffles on the skirt were just so beautiful and it took my breath away! I absolutely loved the fact it was tight fitting which I knew I always wanted but still had that wow factor with the full skirt at the bottom. I did actually end up changing the straps on the dress and had quite a lot of alterations done by the amazing Helen! And when Helen finished with it she made it even more amazing, which I never thought was possible! It was just the perfect dress and I wish I could wear it every day!!

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

Yes I wore a small veil as the skirt of my dress was so detailed and full I just wanted something simple.

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

Our wedding was at Hedsor House, a beautiful country home and was Black Tie. We wanted a very glamorous/ sophisticated vibe and our colour scheme was black, gold and white. I had seen some wedding décor on Pinterest with black and gold décor and all white flowers and I just though it looked so striking and that’s what we wanted to create.

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

Honestly all of it and I just wish we could do it all over again! But probably seeing my now husband standing at the aisle waiting for me! I was very nervous before the ceremony and just seeing him smiling at me took all my nerves away! I just focused on him throughout the ceremony and it felt like it was only us in the room! But also just having all of our amazing friends and family all together for the day was so amazing! As there’s no other time you get all your loved ones together.

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

Enjoy the whole process! I found it all very stressful in the weeks leading up to the wedding like every other bride of course. It probably made it all worse as it was our third date unfortunately due to Covid. And in the weeks leading up to the wedding there were talks about possible lockdowns and more restrictions etc! But at the time I was so busy I almost forgot to enjoy the process and now that it’s all over I actually realise how much I enjoyed all the planning and I actually really miss it! So just enjoy every moment as you only do it once… or hopefully lol!

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

We always said we wanted to wait a few months before we have our honeymoon just so it breaks it all up and we have something to look forward too. So we will probably look at booking something in a few months. Obviously due to Covid we are slightly limited on where we can go etc. But we are looking at either doing a luxury safari for 4 days or then flying to Mauritius for a week after. Or going to the Maldives.
