Ellie’s Perfect Wedding Day

How did your partner propose?

He got down on one knee i Kew Gardens last July; one week before I turned 30. Best present ever!

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

Don’t sweat the small stuff, although that’s easier said than done!

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

I spent quite a bit of time looking at designs I liked on Pinterest and Instagram, so I had a bit of an idea of what I wanted when I started properly looking.

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

The dress I picked was actually the second dress I tried on, but I must have tried on around 20 in total.

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

Aire Barcelona – the dress name is Dagol.

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?

I knew I wanted a long train, and I loved the lace detail and the buttons on the back of this one. The crepe material was also a really good quality, and I loved that it was comfortable enough to be in all day.

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

Yes, I wore my mum’s veil from her wedding day. I also went with a pearl theme for my jewellery, hair and shoes, and had some of my grandma’s pearls set into a pair of earrings and a necklace.

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

We wanted quite a traditional day but nothing too formal, which is why we went for Pangdean Barn in Sussex near to where we live. We were also keen to bring in my Middle Esastern heritage through the food (which went down very well).

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

There were so many, but probably our first dance!

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

Make sure you and your partner are able to spend time together on your wedding day where it’s just the two of you, and if you can, try to get away for a few days immediately after the wedding.

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately
after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

We went to Mauritius two days after the wedding.

Would you mind sharing details of any other suppliers you used? Ideally by their Instagram
handle but if not, just a business name will do!
