Emily’s Barn Wedding
How did your partner propose?
In a restaurant in Hong Kong overlooking the city! He got down on one knee, read a little poem, obviously I said yes to which the whole restaurant applauded!
What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?
Try and take some time out with your new husband throughout the day, even for a couple of minutes!
How did you go about finding your wedding dress?
I had been to a couple of boutiques before Fross so was starting to get an idea of what I liked but was yet to find ‘the one’. I used a lot of social media, mainly instagram, to save ideas and styles.
How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?
Fross was the third boutique I visited, I must have tried about 15 dresses on beforehand.
Do you know the name of your dress designer?
Stella York (Style 6648)
What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?
I loved the illusion straps and low back, the beautifully long train also had the wow factor!
Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?
I had a veil that I purchased from Fross also.
Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.
We had a season change because of covid but wouldn’t have changed anything about it now. As it was in a barn we were able to make it really autumnal and cosy with fairy lights and candles. Having spent a lot of time on Pinterest I was loving a lot of the copper decor that I was seeing and we realised we could make a lot of it ourselves. My husband to be made all the table decor, seating plan etc in this way and it looked great. The copper paired with the Navy colour scheme really felt right for the time of year.
What was your favourite moment from the day itself?
Finally being able to say I do!! And the dancing of course!
Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?
Don’t stress over the little details, no one really notices ! As long as all your loved ones are there to celebrate with you, you’ll have the best day!
Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?
We went to Mauritius on our honeymoon a week after our wedding day. And yes we did have the best time ever!
