Emma’s Perfect Wedding Day

How did your partner propose?

On the steps of the Basilica de Santa Maria del Pi in Barcelona while we were on our first cruise together

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

Take time during the day to just step back and take it all in.

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

I researched various bridal shops using Hitched. Fross was my number 1 choice to visit.

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

It was about 3 or 4.

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

It’s Tiffany’s bridal – Wessex wedding dress

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?

It was everything I was looking for – fitted, gorgeous back, no spaghetti straps and a beautiful long train.

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

I had a short, plain veil as I didn’t want to detract from the dress

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

It was all in a barn. It was a very relaxed day, we didn’t want anything too formal.

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

There are so many – mostly all really funny ones. Keith put my wedding ring on upside down, almost dropped me during the first dance, our wedding cake was really hard to cut and we were holding onto the cake stand for dear life!. It was just such a happy day, filled with so much laughter and surrounded by all of our favourite people.

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

Don’t let all the planning stress you out, and don’t try and do too much on the day. The time will fly by and you don’t want to be stuck to a really rigid timing plan. We were lucky and had a wedding planner with the venue who was a godsend. It meant we didn’t have to think or worry about anything on the day. If something goes wrong on the day, find a way to laugh about it and don’t let it ruin the day.

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

We had a mini-moon for 2 night sin the Cotswolds just after the wedding, but we’re going o a 2 week Caribbean Cruise in February which we can’t wait for!

Would you mind sharing details of any other suppliers you used? Ideally by their Instagram handle but if not, just a business name will do!
