Emma’s Stunning Santorini Wedding
Jul 09, 2019
We caught up with Fross bride Emma to find out all about her stunning wedding in Santorini, wearing a bridal gown by Stella York.
How did your partner propose?
He proposed during our first holiday as a family of three, we had just watched some fireworks and was strolling back over this beautiful bridge. He got down on one knee with our 9 week old daughter strapped to his chest In her baby carrier- so she was very much part of it!
What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to the big day?
To focus on what we really wanted as a couple and not what everyone else wanted.
How did you go about finding the perfect wedding dress?
A lot of online research in particular on Instagram and Pinterest to get a feel of what type of dress I ideally wanted. I then looked online at bridal shops nearby who stocked the dress designers I was interested in.
How many dresses did you try on before finding The One?
What made you fall in love with the dress you chose?
I chose the Mia dress by Stella York, I fell in love with how subtle the sparkle is on the dress. I instantly knew how amazing it would sparkle in the sun! I also loved how lightweight and flattering it was, it ticked all my boxes for an abroad wedding.
What bridal accessories did you choose?
For my ‘something borrowed’ my sister gave me her cathedral length veil which she briefly wore for her wedding in 2016- she knew I absolutely loved it and it was exactly what I was looking for. She then also brought me a bracelet with a blue pendant for my ‘something blue’.. Tom surprised me on the morning of the wedding with the most beautiful diamond earrings to wear on the day!
Tell us about your wedding day.
What was your favourite moment from your big day?
When I first arrived at the venue and stood at the beginning of the aisle looking down, with my dad next to me and my bridesmaids in front. To see our vision all come together and seeing Tom at the end waiting for me was just a dream.
What theme did you pick for the wedding?
We went for a romantic theme. Our main colour scheme was white and gold to keep everything light and elegant, with lots of romantic fairy lights in the evening.
What advice would you give to other brides-to-be?
Don’t sweat the small stuff! I spent weeks leading up to it worrying if all the suppliers would turn up and if the weather was going to be ok. On the day everything ran so smoothly and anything that didn’t really didn’t matter!
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
As we had an abroad wedding in a very popular honeymoon destination, we decided to book our honeymoon later on in the year. We are off to the Maldives in December and we are already counting down the days!
Who were your suppliers for your big day?
