Georgie’s Perfect Wedding Day
How did your partner propose?
It was during lockdown on my 25th Birthday. He had booked us a night away at a hotel and booked me in for a massage. When I came back up to the room from my treatment, he had a birthday cake made and all displayed nicely. After I had got ready for dinner, he gave me my birthday present which was a wine glass that said, ‘will you marry me?’ and as I looked up from the glass, he was on one knee with the ring!
What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?
Take it all in and don’t stress the small stuff. So hard not to stress but it really isn’t worth it because the day goes by so quickly you don’t even notice, you’re just taking in every moment!
How did you go about finding your wedding dress?
I looked online at shops close by with a nice range and Fross was the second shop I visited.
How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?
I would say roughly 12!
Do you know the name of your dress designer?
Justin Alexander
What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?
The detail and detachable arms, so unique and I hadn’t see anything like it before!
Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?
Yes I wore a cathedral length veil, same length as the dress and some jewellery.
Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.
The vibe I went for with decoration was boho chic as it was in a barn in the countryside, we went for quite neutral colours with a pop of pinks to compliment the brown/green surroundings. Lots of Pinterest boards! On the day it was so relaxed and chilled, not very traditional just everyone enjoying themselves.
What was your favourite moment from the day itself?
As we were saying our vowels in the ceremony, a butterfly landed on my veil. My Bridesmaid had gotten me a bouquet charm with a picture of my grandma and Grandpa, and on the morning as it went so quick, we had completely forgotten to put it on. So in that moment it was like they were letting me know they were there.
Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?
Make sure to eat on the day and fully enjoy it all! You go through all this planning and booking of these suppliers, you want to enjoy it along with everyone else. So, take that time during the meal to take it all in and enjoy every bite, because you probably won’t eat for the rest of the day!
Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?
We got married on the Saturday and went on our honeymoon on the following Wednesday. Gave us a few days to get sorted after the wedding weekend. We went to Grenada in the Caribbean. It was pure bliss!
Would you mind sharing details of any other suppliers you used? Ideally by their Instagram handle but if not, just a business name will do!
