Hannah’s Barn Wedding In San Patrick
How did your partner propose?
We were driving back from a day out whilst in Kefalonia and we ended up getting lost up a mountain. He stopped and asked if I wanted to take a picture of the nice view and whilst I was doing so, had knelt behind me.
What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?
To take a moment for yourselves on the big day to take it all in, because it goes so quickly, and it really did!
How did you go about finding your wedding dress?
I had looked at lots of pictures on Pinterest of what I thought I wanted but actually that style didn’t suit me and so it was a case of trying different styles on.
How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?
I think around 8 others, including 4 others at Fross.
Do you know the name of your dress designer?
San Patrick
What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?
The lace! It had depth to it which was so different to the other lace dresses I had seen. It was pretty much the style I said I didn’t want, but in fact suited my figure the most. I had been staring at it on the manikin and my sister said she wanted me to try it on as she thought it would suit me and she was right.
Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?
Yes I had a long veil and a small hair comb.
Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.
Our wedding was at a barn and I wanted it to have lots of flowers to give it a softer feel. I went with light pinks and lots of white. I started by looking on Pinterest and put lots of different ideas together. We had access to the barn for a couple of days before the wedding to decorate it and it was a blank canvas (although very pretty without anything in there). I had faux white wisteria hanging from the ceiling of the barn and paper lanterns in the outside undercover area. I made the table numbers, seating plan and order of the day pallet.
What was your favourite moment from the day itself?
It was just a day where everyone was happy and having fun!
Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?
Remember to top up your lipstick throughout the day because I totally forgot to do that! No, I would say to try and enjoy the run up to the wedding. I could feel myself getting really stressed when actually I was completely organised and had no reason to be. You only get married once (hopefully) and so you should try to enjoy every part of it, even the stressful times!
Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?
We went on our honeymoon the evening after our wedding which was lovely because it meant the bubble lasted 2 weeks longer!
