Karen’s Perfect Wedding Day
How did your partner propose?
He took me for my birthday to bluebell railway for a dining experience, he’d got them to put up balloons, table confetti Etc, it was so romantic & so special, I had absolutely no idea, but after our main course before our desserts came out, he casually says “ oh by the way, there’s something I’ve been meaning to ask you”
Then pulls out the ring box & says “will you marry me”
I mean it was a no brainier for me, absolutely I said yes whilst blubbering! It was the most amazing evening!
What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?
The best piece of advice I was given was to allow myself to hand a lot of things onto others eg, bridesmaid’s, & especially wedding coordinator, it’s too easy to cling on to everything, but I learned that you can’t control everything, & it becomes a huge overwhelming stress! So delegate as much as possible!!
How did you go about finding your wedding dress?
I was actually recommended to go to Fross wedding collections by another previous bride so I thought I’d start there, little did I know the incredible experience I was going to have, let alone find the dress of my absolute dreams, the entire experience was an absolute dream!!
How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?
I think I actually tried on 12 dresses altogether!
Do you know the name of your dress designer?
The designer of my dress was Nicole .
What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?
Well initially I didn’t want to look in the mirror, it felt absolutely amazing so I waited to see the response of my wedding dress entourage (my 2 daughters & best friend) & the look on their faces said it all, & when I eventually looked at myself in the mirror , I burst into tears as I couldn’t believe I could look & feel so beautiful in a wedding dress!
Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?
I didn’t wear a veil but I wore a beautiful hair accessory that my daughters & friend all paid for as a surprise for me from Fross wedding collections & it went perfectly with my absolutely stunning dress !
Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.
Our wedding was held at Ashdown park Hotel & spa in East Grinstead, it is the most beautiful,stunning place with the most incredible grounds! Our theme was Knights of the round table, it was just something significant to us & our colour scheme was Burgundy, Blush & Ivory & it fitted our theme perfectly!
What was your favourite moment from the day itself?
Personally my favourite part of my wedding day was from the moment I woke up until the moment I went to sleep, it was perfect, the most heart warming part for me was getting to the end of the aisle on my own & grabbing my husbands hand as we’d missed each other so much, (we only spent the night before & the morning of the wedding apart ) but it was even that felt like an eternity!
Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?
My one piece of advise for any bride is: soak up very tiny second of it, as it goes by in the blink of an eye.
Would you mind sharing details of any other suppliers you used? Ideally by their Instagram handle but if not, just a business name will do!
We are having a Minimoon in early September to The Cotswolds & the plan is to save as much money as we can because we would really love to honeymoon in Cyprus in 2024 & hope to book this next year!
