Katie’s rustic Italian coastal wedding

Jul 29, 2019

We caught up with Fross bride Katie to find out all about her coastal Italian wedding wearing a stunning, simple gown by St Patrick.

How did your partner propose?

He proposed to me in Bali at a butterfly sanctuary where they were flying all around us, it was so magical.

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to the big day?

To really be present and take every second in on the day as it goes so quickly!

How did you go about finding the perfect wedding dress?

I went by word of mouth on the best place locally to go and by social media.

How many dresses did you try on before finding The One?

My dress was the first one I tried on (Katie wore a dress by St Patrick called Skylar with an Elizabeth Dickens cathedral length veil). I saw it on Fross’ instagram and knew it was the one and after trying a few others on afterwards to compare I knew for sure it was my dress.

What made you fall in love with the dress you chose?

It was the right balance of romantic, classy and simplistic yet very sexy.

What bridal accessories did you choose?

Tell us about your wedding day.

It was beyond magical. The setting over in Italy was just incredible. A view I think we could never of topped for a wedding. The evening was full of Italian food and wine on the beachfront and then constant laughs and dancing in the open air with all our friends and family.

What was your favourite moment from your big day?

What theme did you pick for the wedding?

It was rustic and Italian, simple yet beautiful.

What advice would you give to other brides-to-be?

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

We had ours in Sorrento, Italy as we were married out there so it was a 2 birds 1 stone situation!

Who were your suppliers for your big day?

Cake & Flowers – Our hotel in Sorrento (Mar Alimuri) supplied the cake and flowers for us. Photographer – We had the outstanding Samantha Pells Photography fly out with us to Italy. She is just unbelievable as a person and a photographer cannot recommend her enough. Venue – The rooftop of Hotel Marincanto, Positano ITALY Hair & Make Up – I was lucky enough to have my maid of honour who is a hairdresser by trade do my hair and I chose to do my own makeup as I am trained within that field.
