Lily’s Perfect Wedding Day
How did your partner propose?
Outside our favorite restaurant in Plymouth where my husband is from. He’s in the RAF and wanted a lovely memory in his hometown as we currently live in mine. It was just perfect and was I so happy beyond words could say.
What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?
Enjoy every moment of your wedding day, as it goes in a blink of an eye! The day went so quickly and just taking moments to soak up the atmosphere/music/family and friends made a huge difference.
How did you go about finding your wedding dress?
Fross was always my first point of call for dress shopping as I had received so many reviews from friends and colleagues. Lucky for me, I didn’t need to shop around as I found my dream dress straight away.
How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?
I picked up about 5-6 dresses, but my chosen dress was the second one I tried on, after that, nothing compared.
What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?
My favorite part was the back of the dress, the detailing was just stunning! But overall it was everything I imagined and more- when my mum and sisters teared up, I just know it was the one.
Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?
I chose not to wear a veil as I got married on a beach and didn’t want it flying about in the wind also didn’t want to hide the back of my dress.
Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.
We got married in Mexico on the beach so we wanted to capture this in our dresses/suits/flowers/decor. We chose neutral beach tones and white flowers which was just perfect when it all came together.
What was your favourite moment from the day itself?
Saying our vowels. We chose to write our own vowels as it just made the ceremony more personalized.
Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?
Because we got married abroad we enjoyed a week following the wedding in Mexico! However, we hope to go on an official honeymoon next year, no set destination yet.
