Michelle’s Tuscan Wedding in Stella York
How did your partner propose?
We were on a trip in Venice, where he proposed to me at his mother’s home.
What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?
Relax and just enjoy the wedding day!
How did you go about finding your wedding dress?
Looked for inspiration on Pinterest and found Fross on google based on great customer service! Browsed for dresses in her beautiful shop and found the one on my first trip.
How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?
3
Do you know the name of your dress designer?
Stella York
What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?
It complemented my body and I felt good I was dancing in it that I knew it that it was the one.
Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?
Yes, I wore a long veil for the ceremony and a hair piece for the dinner party.
Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.
We wanted a Tuscan wedding with a country vibe, food made with local produce and by local neighbours of the villa owner. A lot of meat and good wine! We rented a villa where our family could stay with us for a week and the wedding was organised in the whole compound which was very private and organised beautifully by the owner who was also the wedding planner. His place is called Il Casale del Marchese. In the morning, we held a tea ceremony to celebrate my Chinese wedding tradition where we served tea to our parents to signify the acceptance of him in my family and vice versa. In the evening, his family held a beautiful Moldovan tradition of theirs by performing a dance and presenting us with a bread to signify our union.
What was your favourite moment from the day itself?
Walking down the aisle with my dad after my beautiful bridesmaids, seeing everyone close and special to me and especially the groom when he got to finally see my dress!
Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?
Have fun on the day, don’t worry about the small details because enjoying each moment of the big day is more important.
Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?
Yes we are, but not in 3 months time. We are looking to escape Winter by going to South East Asia for 3 weeks visiting Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore.
Would you mind sharing details of any other suppliers you used?
