Natalie’s Perfect Wedding Day
How did your partner propose?
We were on holiday in Barbados and we went for a walk on the beach on New Year’s Eve day. He found a lucky spot, no one was around and I was walking in to the sea, he called me back I turned around and he was on one knee.
What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?
Remember it’s your day and the priority is the bride and grooms happiness.
How did you go about finding your wedding dress?
I had heard so many amazing things about Fross from many of my friends and sister in law. I visited the shop and had the best experience. I knew I didn’t want to get it from anywhere else.
How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?
I had two visits the first I was not pregnant, I tried on 6 and choose 1 from the 6. We decided we wanted to be married when I was pregnant and so I re visited and choose two that would accommodate the bump but there was a clear winner. I didn’t bother to try any more.
Do you know the name of your dress designer?
Madi lane.
What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?
I honestly never got that “I’m so in love” with my dress feeling. However, I knew that I could happily not take it off and keep wearing it and I thought that emotion was stronger than anything else.
Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?
Yes I wore a veil.
Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.
So we were 26 weeks pregnant with twins and so we wanted a low key, small affair. We went to Brighton registry office with just family and a handful of close friends and then went back to Alex family home and celebrated with wider friends in the evening. We describe it as a party, our favourite one yet!
What was your favorite moment from the day itself?
It’s so hard to pick a moment because everything was so special. From my dads speech to seeing Alex at the end of the isle for the first time. If I had to pick a moment it would be travelling to the venue to celebrate being married in the back of a mustang, roof down, sun shining, holding my husbands hand and signing our hearts out.
Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?
Don’t stress over the little things, it all comes together on the day…. or those little things you think really matter don’t end up having a huge impact on the day. So try to relax during the process of the planning (easier said than done!).
Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?
With the twins arrival not too far in the future our plan is to enjoy becoming mum and dad as Mr and Mrs. We are looking forward to taking them to our special place of Barbados where Alex proposed in the near future.
Would you mind sharing details of any other suppliers you used? Ideally by their Instagram handle but if not, just a business name will do!
