Rachel’s Perfect Wedding In Modeca

How did your partner propose?

We were away on holiday in France and went for a walk before lunch. Half way through the walk, when there was no one else around, he grabbed hold of my hand and told me I was the love of his life and asked me to marry him. It was such a shock I actually laughed at first and forgot to say yes! He was waiting down on one knee for a while before I actually answered, then came the tears.

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run-up to your wedding?

To take in every moment of the day, I really made sure I took this on board and I would share this tip with all future brides.

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

I went to 3 different shops with different people, tried on lots of different styles but I knew it was the one when I put it on and saw my bridesmaids and mum’s face.

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one?

Probably Around 15-20.

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

Modeca.

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?

I loved the simplicity of the dress and the way I felt in it. The fabric was so beautiful and I thought it really flattered my body shape.

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

I wore a headband as I felt a veil wasn’t for me. I found a girl on etsy who handmakes the most beautiful bridal headbands.

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

We just wanted everyone to enjoy the day and eat and drink well. We picked a venue we could get ready/married/reception/stay over all in one place and we didn’t have to move or get people from A to B. We got married outside which was really lovely too.

What was your favorite moment from the day itself?

I think walking down the aisle and seeing my husband for the first time and all our friends and family. I t was the happiest moment of my life and I couldn’t stop smiling.

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

Just enjoy every minute of it. Even when planning feels stressful, just enjoy it because one day it’s over and you wish you had the stress back just so you could be planning your special day all over again. Don’t worry about the small stuff, no one notices on the day, even you won’t notice all the little things you think matter.

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (about your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

Because of covid we haven’t had a proper honeymoon yet, we hope to get to Asia in January. We did go on a mini moon 2 days after the wedding to Cornwall for a week, and it was just amazing!

Would you mind sharing details of any other suppliers you used? Ideally, by their Instagram handle but if not, just a business name will do!
