Rosie Cooper’s Romantic Rustic Wedding

How did your partner propose?

My husband proposed whilst we were traveling around south east Asia on a small beautiful Indonesian island. It was a private three course meal set up on the beach whilst watching the sun go down. It was like something from a film!

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

Make time for each other on the day, we have a few moments where we went off just the two of us which were really special. Also don’t try too hard to please others, the day is about the bride and groom so you put yourselves first.

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

I researched so much as finding my wedding dress was a moment in my life I always had thought about. I met Fross at a wedding fair and fell in love with the dresses on display, Fross and the girls were so lovely and so I booked an appointment to try some dresses on!

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

I had tried on a fair few, I visited a couple of other boutiques but nothing compared to the dresses at Fross collections.

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

Modeca

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?

I love my dress because it is everything I wanted. I love the boho style mixed with the glamorous fitted underneath dress that glistened through the tulle overlay. I mainly fell in love with the intricate lace detailing that lay beautifully on the top half of the dress, the mesh straps were so fine that the lace looked as though it had fallen onto my skin.

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

I wore a simple long veil, I always wanted a long veil that dragged behind me and the one I chose definitely made a statement. My dress was so detailed that I chose to pair it with small crystal earrings, no other accessories were needed.

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

The vibes I went for were what I like to call sophisticated boho chic. I really loved the contrast of the elegant detailing against our rustic venue. We got married in a beautiful Oast house with stunning grounds. Our day was so calm and filled with love and emotion, we all shed a tear during the speeches and the band in the evening really made the day one to remember.

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

The car ride with my dad to the venue in the Roles Royce he booked as a surprise! I’ll never forget this time and the words we shared, it was so lovely. Also, the evening with all our guests in one room and the amazing band we had hired. We had the best time ever, the evening was filled with so much love and happiness.

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

Make sure you consider your guests, but make sure you consider yourself first. Don’t invite people because you feel you have to and don’t sweat the small stuff, everything works out perfectly on the day.

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

Yes! We have postponed our honeymoon to next year as I fell pregnant just before the wedding. We enjoyed a lovely mini moon to the new forest just after the wedding and we will be having our official honeymoon next year in Greece island hopping. Our plans are to have the baby which is due in April next year and enjoy life as a family with our dog Dexter.

Would you mind sharing details of any other suppliers you used? Ideally by their Instagram handle but if not, just a business name will do!
